"Your flaws are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you" - unknown

ree

I have a dog , a border terrier named Hershey. She's 9, certainly no longer a pup, but still has the habit of peeing where she shouldn't or chewing on something that's a definite no no. No matter how much you feed her, she's constantly hungry and constantly begging. She has the horrible habit of running out the front door which means to leave the house we have to sneak out , opening the door just a fraction to avoid Hershey from escaping. In short, she's a little pest and sometimes beyond difficult.

This week little Hershey, being the terrier that she is and unbeknownst to those at home, managed to dig a hold under the fence and go on a little adventure around the neighbourhood. A kind neighbour a few doors away alerted us of Hersheys' escape. The panic set in almost instantly. There was this huge fear of losing her. You see, she's indeed a pest, a bother and a nuisance. She makes our lives difficult, but yet, we love her all the same. Her silly ways and her cute little face. She is our family. Sometimes we are so engrossed in the hard work she creates, we forget how much she means to us.

Whether it's your pet or a family member or a friend, we all know someone whose habits or ways can drive us crazy. Their differences give us grey hairs and wrinkles we don't need. But imagine life without them and I'd bet you'd keep them around. Somehow despite their annoying habits and the extra work they may cause, they've found a beautiful place in our hearts.

We got lucky, Hershey made her way back home. Let her pee in the house and beg, let her drive me crazy, I'm just happy she's back.
